The Thai Festival
at Greenwich Park, 8th & 9th August 2009
Greenwich Park, the oldest of the Royal Parks, will host its second Thai event on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th August. Attracting over 20,000 visitors over the two days, Greenwich Park Bandstand will be transformed into a beautiful Thai village. People will be invited to sample a range of authentic Thai food from London’s best Thai restaurants. The delicious tastes and smells of the exquisite food prepared at this event are worth a visit alone.
At the start of the festival, elegant Thai dancers will parade from the St Mary’s Gate - Greenwich Park main entrance. There will also be contemporary and classical Thai dancing on the main stage during the event in case you miss any of the parade, along with live traditional music by The Thai Music Circle in the pavilion throughout the day. The TMC is the only fully-fledged Thai traditional music ensemble in Europe.
Whether you go weak at the knees for Thai cuisine or simply want to try something new, we really recommend you pop down to Greenwich Park. All ticket holders will also enter a prize draw to win a return flight to Thailand.
The Thai Food Festival is being sponsored and organised by Thai Festival Organisation (TFO) and AmThai Paper. The event is officially supported by the Tourism Authority of Thailand and Thai Trade in the UK (Ministry of Commerce).
